Data architecture
Where this runs, and what it is allowed to hold.
The hosted analytics product is a commercial service on a government-community cloud. Federal employee data never lives inside it — VHA workforce extracts are handled only in a separate, scoped, encrypted enclave.
- AWS GovCloud (US) — US-based, government-community cloud
- Inherits FedRAMP High infrastructure authorization
- FIPS 140-2 encryption at rest and in transit
- BAA-scoped enclave for VHA employee data
- No Federal employee data in the hosted analytics product
- Scoped IAM — least-privilege Get / Put / List only

Status reflects this deployment. The production platform operates under the VA's Assessment & Authorization (A&A) process — VA Handbook 6500 (Information Security Program) and VA Directive 6517 (Cloud Computing) — within an authorized boundary; this page is an operational illustration of that posture.
