Capture the work. Classify the position.
The desk-audit, modernized: log an incumbent's duties over a representative work period — by template, by hand, or by voice — and the platform's AI proposes the OPM series, pay system, grade band, and FLSA. The classifier reviews, maps the job architecture, and commits it to the versioned catalog with full audit lineage (Task 5.1–5.2).

How this maps to the PWS. The VA furnishes employee and job data centrally (Subtask 2.1), so in production these duty inputs are pre-populated from the GFE files and validated here rather than typed from scratch. This module is the analyst’s workspace for Subtask 5.1 (mapping employees to functions, families, career tracks, and levels) and Subtask 5.2 (validating job and employee data) — with a modern, AI-assisted, voice-enabled capture layer for the cases that need a fresh desk audit.
Duty templates and AI-proposed classifications are illustrative and require classifier review. AI proposals are advisory and human-reviewed; committed records carry the analyst of record and tamper-evident audit lineage. Production classification is performed against Government-furnished employee data and VA Handbook 5007 / OPM standards.
